Experience
As a graduate of Albertus Magnus College, New Haven, Connecticut, I earned a master's degree in Art Therapy after having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. I received my bachelor's degree from Rhode Island College where I earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees, studying Studio Art and Cultural Anthropology. In addition, I earned teaching certifications for middle school social studies and elementary education. I have taught in classrooms at public schools, tutored students online, and even worked as an art therapist at veteran's hospitals. I have had a variety of valuable teaching experiences, and have tried to incorporate some of my favorite teaching theories in the classroom. One of these theories is Gardener's Theory of Multiple Intelligences, which was always intriguing to me. Because of my diverse teaching background, I have had the opportunity to work with students with a wide variety of backgrounds, learning capacities, and educational levels. When I work with students, I strive to really motivate them and aid in helping them recognize and utilize their individual talents. When a student feels confident in their abilities, I've seen that it raises their self esteem and they feel more excitement for learning in general. In my spare time, I enjoy artwork, cooking, yoga, reading, and traveling.
