It took me over 12 years of hard work, research, and practice to understand how to craft professional quality prose and how to properly structure stories. I have published several short stories and poems, a novel (Fell's Hollow), and a best selling writing textbook (The NORTAV Method for Writers). I am currently tutoring a local high school student in creative writing and previously led a local writers' group for over two years. Because of the great experience I've had with my current student, I am looking to expand my tutoring efforts and perhaps set up a career change in the future (from IT to writing/teaching writing full time).

Hobbies
Obviously, my hobby is writing! I am hard at work on the sequel to Fell's Hollow, and I am also putting together a complete writing program that will serve as an alternative to the MFA. My philosophy is to teach the universal forms and conventions for writing fiction. I do not teach a "formula" for writing, nor do I believe in teaching students to rely on a "muse." Writing is about understanding your artistic options and then choosing the best option for a given situation. My coursework can easily be tailored to beginning, intermediate, or advanced students.
